Eminem has ruled the 2000’s in terms of album sales as an artist. Slim has sold over 32 million records in this decade to claim the title of Best Selling Artist This Decade…but here’s the kicker…Eminem just got back into the game with Relapse earlier this year off a self-imposed 5-year hiatus!! Meaning that Em is the top selling act and was only active for half the decade!!!! Applaud him.
Em sold more than 32.2 million albums in the 2000s, edging out the Beatles to claim the title of top-selling artist. The Beatles ended up with the decade’s best-selling album (they sold nearly 11.5 million copies of 2000’s greatest-hits comp 1,) besting the likes of ‘NSYNC’s No Strings Attached (11.1 million copies sold) and Norah Jones’ Come Away With Me, (10.5 million). Eminem was the only artist to place two albums on the list; his The Marshall Mathers LP and Eminem Show records landed at #4 and 5, selling 10.2 million and 9.8 million copies, respectively. Interestingly, of the top 10 albums of the decade, the most recently released is Usher’s Confessions, which came out in 2004. – MTV

Okay, can’t say I didn’t see this coming…I actually I saw this waaaay back in June. Reports say that Jim Jones is leaving Columbia/Sony but truth of the matter is they agreed to a mutual separation to let him save face as oppose to saying they’re dropping him but they essentially dropped him off the label.
Jones has gone back to where things were pretty good for him…Koch Records. Jones had his biggest hit to date “We Fly High (Ballin’)” while signed To Koch. Koch is now known as E1 Records and Jones has recently signed a deal to release his next solo album through the label. The album has tentative release of Spring 2010 but before that he’s dropping a mixtape he’s currently working on, The Ghost of Rich Porter, in the near future.
