Rest In Peace to a R&B singer of legendary proportions and a beacon on inspiration to those he toouched and soothed through the gift of his music…Teddy Pendergrass.

Beloved R&B singer Teddy Pendergrass died Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Philadelphia. He was 59 years old.

The survivor of a 1982 car accident, Pendergrass was paralyzed from the waist down but continued his career, which began with Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes. As a solo artist he recorded many classics records and was dubbed “Teddy Bear” for his velvety smooth voice. Eight months ago, he underwent surgery for colon cancer and was said have had a difficult recovery, according to his son Teddy Jr. He leaves behind a musical legacy that will fondly be remembered.
