Weezy covers Ozone magazine’s Sex Issue hitting newsstands soon.

Just before getting locked up and serving his bid in Rikers Island Weezy had a sit-down interview with Ozone Magazine and discussed topics that touched on his objection to the release of The Carter Documentary, his relationship with Shanell, his kids’ mothers, child support and more. Below is excerpt of the interview concerning fatherhood & child support:

On whether he considers himself a good father and child support:
I’m not on child support with none of my kids cause I’m a great father. So it’s not determined by how much money you’re paying at all. That’s not what it’s about. It’s about being there and being that important person in their lives. It’s about being #1 or #2 in their life. That’s very important for your child, to make sure you’re that #1 or #2. Because if you’re not, you know what #1 or #2 could end up being. That’s the most important thing of all. I just try to make sure I’m of the highest importance in their lives, next to their moms.

Jigga spoke to MTV about Lil’ Wayne’s last performance at MSG in NYC before serving his one-year bid in Riker’s.

“It was fantastic,” Jay said yesterday about his latest Garden adventure, the fond memory invoking a grin. “Again, any time you play the Garden is a special moment. It’s special. Wayne, how that worked out, he was supposed to go away for a year. Somehow he was able to perform that last show. He came out to an incredible reaction. Then Drake, Nicki Minaj — all on Jeezy’s set, which was fantastic. Then Trey Songz and Fabulous. It’s one of those magical nights at the Garden. Once again, one of those magical nights.”

After a few setbacks in previous attempts, Lil’ Wayne has officially been sentenced.  Earlier this morning (3/8) Weezy began his one-year jail term for pleading guilty for a gun charge.  As a cuffed Wayne was lead out of the courtroom to be transport to do his time (the above pic is of Weezy preparing to be transported to Rikers)…he paused looked back at Cash Money CEO’s Baby & Slim gave a head nod to them and just like that was taken away and gone. More Details below:

Lil Wayne was sentenced Monday to a year in jail in New York City for having a loaded gun on his tour bus in 2007, then was taken away in handcuffs to begin his term immediately.

The Grammy Award-winning rapper, born Dwayne Carter, was sentenced in Manhattan after pleading guilty in October to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He admitted having the loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun on his tour bus.

The rapper will serve his sentence in city jails, not a state prison. He could be released in about eight months with good behavior.

Last night in NYC during Jeezy’s set of the BP3 Tour he brought out Nicki Minaj, Drake & Lil Wayne (who happened to be able to show up because of a lil blaze) and shocked the crowd with his appearance and performance that the people attendance lost their minds. It’s hard to upstage Hov when he’s in MSG; but this one took the cake…check it out.

Looks like Weezy keeps getting lucky…his sentencing has been delay yet again this time due to a fire in the courthouse where Wayne was suppose to be sentenced…fireman indeed — the AP has the deets:

NEW YORK — A court spokesman says rap star Lil Wayne’s sentencing in a New York City gun case has been postponed because of a courthouse fire.

The rapper had been expected to start a one-year jail term after sentencing Tuesday. He pleaded guilty in October to attempted criminal possession of a weapon.

Courts spokesman David Bookstaver said the sentencing was among proceedings canceled due a basement fire at a Lower Manhattan courthouse.

The 27-year-old rapper entered his plea in October. He admitted having a loaded gun on his tour bus in July 2007.

He has become one of rap’s biggest names and music’s biggest sellers in recent years.
