VH1 aired their series that takes an in-depth look into famous crime scenes where celebrity artists lost their lives. This episode focuses on the G.OA.T. (in my opinion) — The Notorious B.I.G.:

Rap legend Biggie Smalls was shot to death after leaving a star-studded party in Los Angeles. Today, the controversial case remains unsolved. Discover how this infamous murder and investigation unfolded, through the eyes of cops assigned to the case.

Last night in the The Brook (Brooklyn) Diddy & Mr. Cee celebrated Biggie’s life with a tribute party that brought out Busta Rhymes, Fabolous, Red Cafe, Jadakiss, Rick Ross and Dirty Money. MTV has the full rundown.

“All Diddy told me was to set up a stage,” Brooklyn DJ Mister Cee, who discovered Biggie back in the early ’90s, said early in the night. “I don’t know who’s coming, I don’t know who’s not coming. But if you’re not in this building, you’re gonna miss something legendary. Diddy told me he’s gonna show his ass tonight. He said, ‘Tonight, I’m not Diddy, I’m back to being Puffy.’ That means he’s taking it back to ’94, ’95.”

The Source has been holding out on us…Check out the footage of Biggie’s performance during the 1995 Source Awards that they’ve finally released. In the video see B.I.G. run through his hits and see cameos by by Bad Boy’s Craig Mack, Puff Daddy, Total, Junoir Mafia, Lil’ Kim & Faith Evans.

Classic!!!! RIP Frank White!!

Rest In Peace to the greatest (In My Opinion) MC to touch a mic. B.I.G. is sorely missed not just for what he brought to Hip Hop but what he brought to the lives he postively touched. His UNBELIEVABLE impact, to not just rap, but to Hip Hop as culture is still felt…even 13 years later and will continue to be felt forever…ain’t another like ya. We’ll always love BIG POPPA!!

Jadakiss is the new official pitchman for apparel company COOGI. Mentioning the label in his songs have definitely paid off; check out this behind the scenes footage of a recent photo shoot that took place in NYC of the MC with the raspy flow. And as you can see they will definitely be paying homage to the Notorious B.I.G. (and rightfully so) in the ads since he did help bring COOGI to the urban mainstream, as ‘Kiss recreates Biggie’s now icon pic where he countin’ his ones in a Coogi sweater. The ad campaign rolls out this ’09 Holiday season.

Kandi Burress formerly of the R&B girl group Xscape reveals in an interview with Urban Daily that Biggie apologized for his line in Dreams track from back in the day that took shots at her group labeling them ugly. Burress goes onto say that B.I.G. apologized to Tiny at the Petersen Automotive Museum in L.A. the night he was killed.

“I’ll f*ck Rupaul..
Before I f*ck them ugly ass Xscape bitches
You can 76 the 69… try 68″

 Notorious B.I.G. – “Dreams”

*Aug 16 - 00:05*

Notorious B.I.G.’s daughter T’yanna Wallace celebrated her ‘Sweet 16′ birthday yesterday (Aug. 16) and while doing so she kept her father close to heart…literally. Attendees included her siblings — brother Lil’ Biggie aka CJ, her step-sister Chyna and even Lil’ Diddy Christian Combs chilled at her party; that was DJ’ed by Mr. Cee. Performances at the party included KiD CuDi (her favorite rapper), Ron Browz & DJ Webstar. NY Daily News provided details:

The Notorious B.I.G. didn’t live to see his baby girl turn 16, but T’yanna Wallace made sure he was there for her Sweet Sixteen party last night.

Dolled up in a pink dress and Nikes to match, the hip-hop princess wore a button over her heart emblazoned with her slain father’s face.

“I needed to have him here with me,” she said, standing outside of Taj, an upscale lounge in the Flatiron District. “I feel like I’m all grown up now,” the teenager added.

T’yanna showed off her custom-made dress by Bronx designer Walter Steele. Lollipops and Jolly Ranchers were scattered across the dress, in keeping with the party’s theme of candy. “It was a combination of a magical candy land meets rock star,” Steele explained.

The hit “Candy Girl” by New Edition played as she skipped down a red carpet outside the club and greeted friends. “You guys look so cute,” she said. T’yanna’s father, whose real name was Christopher Wallace, was shot dead in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles in 1997. He was 24.

T’yanna was only 3 years old when her famous dad was killed.

Kid Cudi, her favorite rapper, was scheduled to perform at her birthday party. “I’m excited,” she said, hoping to hear the up-and-coming rapper’s hits, “Day ‘n’ Nite” and “Make Her Say.” “I dressed up for him,” she said, smiling from ear to ear. “I got this little pretty dress just for him.”
